Malaysia’s third biggest Certified Seeds producer and sole GLC Certified Seeds producer in Kedah.

Managing more than 2,500 Hectare of paddy farm consisting of Breeder Seed, Foundation Seed, Registered Seed and Certified Seed located in Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Pulau Pinang and Selangor. 

Operating 5 paddy seed mills located in Kedah, Pulau Pinang, Perak & Selangor with production capacity exceeding 14,000 MT per season.

In 2019, MADACorp and Nomatech Sdn Bhd (Subsidiary of University Kebangsaan Malaysia) launched new paddy varieties, UKMRC-2 and UKMRC-8. The launching ceremony was a huge success as it has changed the Malaysia paddy industry landscape, where new paddy varieties were introduced by private agencies in industry which was monopolied solely by MARDI.

Since then, MADACorp Seed Sdn Bhd become the only private company involve in producing breeder and foundation seed (UKMRC-2 & UKMRC-8) in Malaysia.

UKMRC-2 & UKMRC-8 are special varieties seeds produced under research from University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). These special varieties were produced by control pollination of wild paddy species Oryza Rufipogon and MR 219. The pollination process begins in 2002 and was filed as new variety status in 2009. In 2014, these two varieties were acknowledged and accepted as new paddy varieties in Malaysia.

Amongst the specialties of UKMRC-2 and UKMRC-8 are ;

  • Moderate resistance towards Pyricularia (Karah)
  • Short maturity period (116-118 days)
  • Potentially high to survive in flood up to 2 weeks (vegetative phase)
  • High yield potential
  • Strong stem

 

Now, UKMRC-2 and UKMRC-8 has become the top chosen varieties amongst farmers in Malaysia.
